Bye Bye FIFA World Cup

I am so sad to say - Bye Bye FIFA World Cup!

I travelled to the Euros in Germany in the summer of 2024 to follow Scotland and spend the most wonderful time with The Tartan Army.

I have now been grappling with travelling to the US to see them in the FIFA World Cup this very summer. As a Scot, you do have to be honest - I won’t get to see Scotland very often in a World Cup in my lifetime. After all, it's taken nearly 28 years for this latest opportunity to come around! So it's a very big deal!

The prospect of Scotland v Brazil in Miami with tens of thousands of Scotland fans is so exciting – a true once in a lifetime opportunity for me. But I have made the decision not to travel in June – it’s heartbreaking, but it in the end, pretty simple.

I have to follow my personal morality and humanity in travelling there when there is a so-called President – desperate for the Nobel Peace Prize ironically – who is presiding over mindless war in the Middle East, having already had the leader of Venezuela arrested, threatening the takeover of Greenland and bad-mouthing traditional allies to the US with the style of a weak, cheap, second rate school bully - destabilising international relations across the globe. Don't even start me on his support of Netanyahu or Vladimir Putin!

Peace! it's just as well Mr Trump is walking the corridors of power in the States, as he would be walking the corridors of prison, if he wasn’t in The White House. And there's a whole litany of serious misdemeanours I haven't even mentioned as you well know!

And as for the World Cup? I similarly can’t support FIFA and another grifter in their own President - Gianni Infantino who presented Mr Trump with a FIFA peace medal recently.

Thousands of innocents have been killed since he handed him the embarrassingly tin pot Mickey Mouse trophy.

I refuse to support FIFA who have proved in the last 30 years just about as corrupt and corruptible as the so-called Leader of the Free World right now!

I am sorry Scotland. I am sorry Tartan Army. I am sorry - right thinking folks of the US.

BeIieve me, I will support as loudly and as wholeheartedly as ever, but it will have to be from home – still in my kilt, still singing my heart out, still proud of our team, our country and our amazing fans.  C’mon Scotland.
